How it all began, one litter at a time.

We didn't set out to build a business. We just wanted to raise puppies the way we'd want for our own family — and somehow, that became Hawaii King Kennels.
It started with one dog
Long before Hawaii King Kennels had a name, it was just our family and a dog we loved like a member of the household. Friends kept asking where they could find a puppy just as sweet — and we started paying closer attention to what made a good breeder, and what didn't.
Raising puppies the way we'd want for our own
Our first litter was born right in our home on Maui — underfoot, hand-raised, never in a kennel out back. That's stayed true for every litter since: puppies raised as part of the family from their very first days.
Word of mouth, one family at a time
We've never advertised our way to growth. Families who brought a puppy home told other families, and that's how Hawaii King Kennels grew — slowly, personally, and always small enough that we know every puppy by name.
Still a family business, still on Maui
Today we're still doing this the same way we started: small litters, personal attention, and a real relationship with every family who brings one of our puppies home.
